“Cry of the Whole Congregation” to be presented at Faith Lutheran Mission Church

“Cry of the Whole Congregation,” a special service commemorating the Passion of Christ, will be presented at 5 p.m. on Palm Sunday, March 28 at Faith Lutheran Mission Church, Eau Claire’s new LCMC congregation.  The congregation worships at The Lutheran Church of St. Matthew, 1915 Hogeboom Street, with a time of food and fellowship to follow.

“Cry of the Whole Congregation” was written by Walter Wangerin, Jr., and brings the Gospel story of Holy Week to life, from Jesus Christ’s triumphant ride into Jerusalem to his Last Supper to his death on the cross.  The production includes readings by members of the congregation and special music.

The service will be followed by a dinner of ham and scalloped potatoes, and all who attend the service are welcome to join in meal that follows.

Faith Lutheran Mission Church is the first in the Chippewa Valley to affiliate with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC), a centrist, congregation-based Lutheran church body which recognizes Scripture as the sole source and norm of faith and life. Details about LCMC and its mission can be found at www.lcmc.net.

Anyone is welcome to attend both the 5 p.m. service and the meal and fellowship time to follow.  Details about Faith Lutheran Mission Church can be found at faithlutheranmc.org.  As a church dedicated to mission work outside its church walls to the greater community, Faith Lutheran Mission Church will dedicate 10% of Sunday’s offering to the Bolton Refuge House, and another 10% to LCMC’s Seminarian Fund.
