Lutheran Congregations in
Mission for Christ (LCMC) Pioneer to Preach Sunday

Pastor Tony Stoutenburg, one of the founders of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC), will be the guest pastor for Faith Lutheran Mission Church, Eau Claire's new LCMC congregation at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 27. The congregation worships at The Lutheran Church of St. Matthew, 1915 Hogeboom Street, with a time of food and fellowship to follow.

Pastor Stoutenburg’s will preach on Galatians 3.  Pastor Stoutenburg was active in founding the WordAlone Network as well as LCMC, and served on the board of trustees for both organizations.  He is currently pastor for Grace Lutheran Church in Hayward, which in 2004 became the first LCMC congregation in northwest Wisconsin.  Pastor Stoutenburg and his wife Pam have two sons, and live in Hayward.

Each week, Faith Lutheran Mission Church dedicates 20% of its offerings to an individual, group or organization doing God’s work outside of the congregation.  This week, Faith will be sending its mission offering to Peace Lutheran Church in Gulf Shores, Alabama, to assist the congregation and its members as they feel great financial burden from the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

Faith Lutheran Mission Church formed January 13, and held its chartering service earlier this month.  The church is the first in the Chippewa Valley to affiliate with LCMC, a centrist, congregational-based Lutheran church body which recognizes Scripture as the sole source and norm of faith and life. Details about LCMC and its mission can be found atwww.lcmc.net.

Everyone is welcome to attend both the 5 p.m. service and the fellowship time to follow.  Details about Faith Lutheran Mission Church can be found at faithlutheranmc.org.
